U.S., Allies Discuss Aiding Palestinians, Not Hamas

NPR April 2, 2006 · The so- called "Quartet" of Middle East mediators -- the United States, European Union, Russia and the United Nations -- gathers in Amman, Jordan, to discuss ways to aid the Palestinians without going through ministries in the new Hamas-led government. The United States has cut ties with all officials linked to Hamas, which it considers a terrorist organization.
