Time

by Olive

Do ever you feel time’s going so fast,
And every day goes flying past?
Where’re all the minutes, all the hours?
I still had yet so many devours!

You see my brother, it hurtles by,
So stop the laughter and let us cry,
Time is not a thing to waste,
Release yourself and let’s make haste!

One day can seem a single second,
But many more hours can be beckoned,
If you but use the phase that’s free;
The stage neglected from which we flee,

Wake up to dawn and taste the dew,
Unknot the ties that Satan did sew,
Then feel the radiance from daybreak,
Embrace the morning; feel awake!
The air so thick with many a praise,
For Him to Whom belong the days,

And when the sun has reached its zenith,
Have you yet felt your faith replenish?
Hide not beneath the slothful sheets,
Let energy help you to defeat,

As the light begins to fade,
Let’s review what your hands have made,
How more enlightened is your mind?
Or did you let evil make you blind?
Now its dark; the stars shine out;
Will you let slumber stop devout?

Indeed the time is ticking by,
And chances wasted; deeds but nigh,
Our death may seize us unprepared,
Will you not let that make you scared?
Open the books and seek some knowledge,
Let us take the time to cross this bridge,
And make something of our lives,
So we spend eternity in Paradise!
