Israeli Beach Bombing Aftermath Photo's



Palestinians examine a beach in the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahya where at least seven people were killed and 20 injured Friday. According to Palestinian officials, shells fired by an Israeli gunboat hit the beach during a family picnic.

The Israel Defense Forces said it was firing on rocket-launching areas in Gaza after a militant attack earlier in the day. The target areas were believed to be uninhabited, an IDF spokesman said. Click through the gallery to see more images from Friday's events.

The Israel Defense Forces say militants in a car had launched a rocket attack on Israel from near the village of Beit Lahya. Three Palestinian militants were killed in the airstrike, officials said. The dead were identified by Palestinians as members of the Popular Resistance Committees.
