DFLP leader meets with Syrian vice-president

Ma'an- Damascus- The secretary general of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Nayif Hawatmeh, has said in an interview with the BBC, that the last meeting between the Palestinian factions and Farouq al-Sharaa, the Syrian vice-president, was devoted to in-depth discussions of situation in Palestine, Lebanon and the wider Middle East.

He added: "We agreed in our dialogue that the Israeli atrocities against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, in addition to their aggression in Lebanon, are programmed objectives for a long run rather than efforts to free captured soldiers in Gaza and Lebanon. We also discussed the necessity for an immediate cease fire in both areas."
