New Israeli weapon used against peaceful demonstrators in Bil'in: bullets that cause an electric shock
August 25, 2006
Ramallah - Ma'an - The Israeli army used a new weapon against peaceful anti-Wall demonstrators on Friday.
During the weekly demonstration at the West Bank village of Bil'in, west of Ramallah, our correspondent reported that the Israeli army fired bullets which resemble rubber bullets yet they cause an electric shock when they strike the human body.
International peace activists join Palestinian and Israeli activists every Friday in Bil'in to protest against the ongoing construction of the illegal Separation Wall inside the West Bank with disastrous consequences for the native population.
On Friday 25 August, a large number of foreigners were at the protest to show their solidarity. Our correspondent reported that 12 demonstrators were injured, including Palestinian Legislative Council member, Muhib Awwad.
The protesters waved Hezbollah flags and held posters urging further resistance.
