Ehud Olmert claims he supports the Palestinian moderate camp

Bethlehem - Ma'an - Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has said, "The issue of the prisoners is a complicated one, especially because the Israeli soldier is still captured in the Gaza Strip until now.'' He stressed that Israel and the Palestinian Authority will found a joint committee to deal with the prisoners issue.

Speaking at a press conference with the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, on Tuesday evening, he said, "Israeli interest is to enhance the moderate camp, those who are supporting and recognizing the Quartet demands and those who are ready for peaceful negotiations." Olmert claimed that he has direct contact with Abbas through his aides.
