Palestinian prisoners in Israeli Etzion detention center go on hunger strike
AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli Etzion detention center started on Tuesday an open-ended hunger strike to protest the administration's maltreatment, the Palestinian prisoner's club reported.
It said that the prisoners had earlier started protest steps against the ill-treatment an example of which was forcing them to stand for long periods.
The club quoted prisoners as complaining of malnutrition, noting that no bread was given to them for a week other than the lack of hot water.
They said that the prison authority did not heed their repeated requests and refused to allow entry of clothes supplied by relatives. They finally urged legal and human rights organizations to plead their case and end their suffering.
