3 October 2007
A conference titled "Plans for Palestine's Future" has been held in Tehran to discuss the latest developments in the region.
The conference was held at the Political and International Studies Center of Iran's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday and was attended by the local and foreign experts on the Palestinian issues, according to Mehr news agency.
Manouchehr Mohammadi, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Educational and Research Affairs termed the occupation of Palestine by the Zionist Regime a "strategic mistake" for the occupiers and added that "by occupying the Palestinian territories, Israel is standing against one fifth of the world population- the Muslims. He added that the strategic mistake by the Zionist Regime is doomed to failure."
Nasir Qandil, a former Lebanese lawmaker said that "it is regrettable that some Arabs and Muslims don't consider the Zionist Regime as a threat, despite the fact that they are exposed to the danger of the hawkish policies of the regime."
"Resistance against the criminal goals of the Zionists is not only a holy responsibility, it is also the most effective instrument for victory over Israel." Qandil added.
