The Released Prisoner "Fatima Zaied" Reported Her Full Story of Agony in the Zionist Prison
After an arrest lasted for more than two years, the Zionist forces released three students from the Open University of Jerusalem.
According to the indictment, the three students provide logistical help to Sheikh Falah Nada, who is accused in leading the Qassam Brigades in the West Bank.
The three girls lived in different areas of the West Bank. They are: Fatima Ibrahim Zaied from Jineen, Batul Yousif from Ramallah, Iman Al Fara from Hebron.
So after we hear the news of here release, we directed to her house to hear from her about the Palestinian women situations in the prison.
"The night of terror and destruction..."
With these words, Fatima summarized the night of her detention from students house in Ramallah in January 20th,2003. A large military forces surrounded the house during the attack in the mid night. The Zionist soldiers detained the whole family in one room and subjected the house to specific searches for everything even for a scrap of paper.
Then they ( the Zionist soldiers) took me and Iman Abu Fara to the Center of "Beit El" arrest house. "The soldiers curses us with dirty words". They put us together in a small cell. In the next day, the Zionist forces arrested Batul Yousif under the same excuse.
The freed prisoner "Fatima Zaied" said "the conditions of detention at " Beit El" was very bad. A very narrow places, the water is towing from everywhere. In addition, we were the only girls at the prison. Because of the bad conditions, we have managed a hunger strike for eight days. The prisoners administrations transferred me alone to "Ofer", which is near to Ramallah.
63 days in the investigation...
In "Ofer" prison, the Zionist administration extended my arrest to additional 22 days. The soldiers handcuffed me and enswathe my eyes. Fatima said " when they began to torture me, I didn’t know the time. There were no windows, so the dark is full and we can't decide what the time is. The investigating was too harsh".
Fatima added "The investigators used brutality actions against me. They used many techniques as deprivation of sleep during the investigation, psychological torture, threats and intimidation to bring my brother Abdullah, who is jailed since August 8th,2002, and my parents and tortured them in front of me to force me to confess".
Fatima confirmed that the Zionist investigators prevented her from sleeping for 15 days. "They put us in a rooms full of spies to the Zionist entity to extract what can be extracted… Then I was sentenced for two years."
Ramla prison
Fatima emphasizes that the conditions of detention in the Ramla prison are very poor. We were prevented from the visit in the first year of detention. and when we were allowed to visit, they allowed us to see our family and parents from a distance of half meter away. Then they put iron as a division. as well as glass barrier, only a few holes allow the second part to hear you.
The provided food is not fit for human consumption. The food suffer from poor preparation and lack of quantity. In Al Ramla prison, the prisoners divided into two parts: the criminals from the Zionist entity and us. The administration prevented us from talking loudly. The main reason not to annoy the criminals.
She added that there is no glass on jail windows to prevent cold of the winter. The harshness of life inside the jail increased, the Department prevent heating machines from all kinds. That situation obliged us to manage a hunger strike for 12 days to achieve our goals, but the administration reduced the period of the visit as a punishment.
Unlike all the Zionist prisons, the administration of Ramla detention prevented any materials used in handicrafts. The Zionist administration to punish the prisoner Reem Hamdan by preventing her from the visit for a couple of months because she wanted her basic materials. Even the administration prevented the prisons from writing their memories or anything else.
The Zionist administration punished the wife of the Qassam leader ,Ali Allan, Amal Allan, by isolating her for seven days just because she put her husband picture on the wall of her cell.
About the health situation, Fatima said that the job of doctors in the prison is just a complementary role to torture the prisoners. The provided medicine is no more than a few pills of "Aspirin". They describe the pills to any case of disease.
We were forced to treat ourselves by buying some herbs. But this treatment is not adequate for some diseases. The health situation has worsened to a large degree. The prisoner Naima Nakhla suffered from diabetes. The doctor asked her to drink water. That increased the infections.
Appeal ...
