Gaza
Ma'an – The spokesperson of the Popular Committee for Confronting the Embargo on the Gaza Strip, Rami Abdu, said on Wednesday that an environmental and health disaster is looming in the Gaza Strip if chlorine used for water purification is not brought into the coastal region.

Abdu affirmed that the amounts of chlorine in the municipal council warehouses in the Gaza Strip are depleted, which means that water pumps in the Strip will soon stop, leaving the residents without water.

Water purification engineers are considering reducing the amount of chlorine in the water which will impact on the cleanliness of water used in the Gaza Strip.
