Carter Meets with the Shalit Family

Former U.S. president Jimmy Carter has a meeting on 13 April 2008 in Jerusalem with Noam Shalit and his wife Aviva, the parents of Jewish soldier Gilad Shalit.

Carter defended today his plan to meet with Khaled Meshal, as he kicked off a trip to the Middle East, amid criticism from Washington and the Jewish people.

What former U.S. president Jimmy Carter does not realize, meeting with Meshal, has no bearing on the release of Gilad Shalit. For Meshal has no authority, towards policy of the Palestine legal government.

Apparently, Carter does not have the proper information, of who to actually speak too or elevates to do so and the meeting with Meshal is just a farce.

The actual person that has the authority to secure the release of Gilad Shalit, is making every effort to do so, without Carter’s aid.

Former U. S. President Jimmy Carter even before he was President, even admitted in his 2006 book, that he actually has had no real contact with the majority of Arab Palestinians.

Therefore, it is seen that he knows nothing about them now or the legal government.

Nevertheless, his visit to Palestine as far as all Palestine is concerned, is more of a publicity stunt then anything else.

Finally, Carter’s knowledge of Palestine is minimal or jaded at best, as well as his view of the Middle East.
