Segment of the Dead Sea Scrolls to be displayed

30 April 2008

A rarely displayed segment of the Dead Sea Scrolls are part of an exhibition for dignitaries attending the Jewish anniversary celebrations for there 60 years in Palestine.

The ancient manuscripts date back over 2,000 years and were found starting in 1947, by a Bedouin sheep herder boy, in 11 caves at Qumran.

It is said the segment to be displayed at this particular exhibition, will be from Psalm 133. It reads, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity."

While there is religious text, some scholars also contribute some other types of text, among the scrolls.
