Member of Parliament Freed from Prison

Palestinian Member of Parliament, Mariam Saleh, speaks during a meeting in her office two days after she was released from a Jewish jail where she spent seven months, on 17 June 2008 in the city of Ramallah.

Saleh, a mother of seven, was seized in the town of Bireh near the West Bank city of Ramallah in November and jailed in the Hasharon prison north of Tel Aviv, her husband Nazmi Abed Majid told AFP.

She was released without any explanation, Majid said.

The Jewish prison authorities were not immediately available for comment.
