An official statements signed by both parties along with the Senegalese foreign minister said that the Palestinian delegates thanked the Senegalese efforts and underlined that the Senegalese mediator would contact leaders of both movements to decide on the next meetings.
Senegalese president Abdullah Wad, who is also the current chairman of the Organization of Islamic Conference, appreciated both leaders of PLG and Fatah for responding to his invitation.
Meanwhile, in the Gaza Strip the PLG spokesman, Fawzi Barhoum, said that the PA security apparatuses in the West Bank should contribute to success of such talks through ending daily arrest campaigns in lines of PLG supporters and other resistance factions.
Barhoum added in a press release that PLG was quick to respond favorably to the calls for national conciliation talks and stopped media campaigns.
He said that Abbas's security should halt arresting PLG cadres, release all those detained in its jails, allow freedom of the press and re-open all closed institutions.
