US, root cause of all regional problems: Iran

Iranian envoy said on Saturday that the root cause of all regional problems is the discriminatory policy of the Western governments, particularly the US.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, which poses no threat to any of its neighboring states, has been exposed to discrimination and the Security Council sanctions to deprived the great Iranian nation of its legitimate right of producing nuclear energy, he added.

The Islamic Iran has never been pursuing nuclear weapons, he stressed, adding that all Iran's peaceful nuclear activities have been under direct supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

According to several reports released by the IAEA, there has been no deviation in Iran's nuclear program from peaceful purposes, the ambassador said.

On Iran's great potentials in different areas, Ansari said Iranian experts have been successful in producing yellow cake, uranium enrichment technology, and building centrifuges.

He reiterated that resumption of unconditional talks between Iran and Europe will be the only solution to Iran's nuclear case, saying Iran is by no means interested in escalation of crisis or conflict in the region.
