Cuba ramped up emergency preparations before the fifth named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season moved ashore about 20 miles west of Guantanamo with top sustained winds dropping to 45 mph.

As the storm grows closer to Florida, many survivors are holding their breath at the anticipation of what may very well be before them.

Gulf Coast mourns 1 year after Katrina

A year later, recovery in New Orleans not easy

Note:

Many people question who was a survivor and who wasn’t because of all the corruption after the hurricane, but take it from me being one of those survivor’s; what happened that fateful day for those of us who really went through that devastating storm will never forget.

And I am sure I as many other’s who for now are relocated whish the best for the Gulf Coast and like me and my husband, New Orleans, Louisiana with always be a place we called home.
