Ahmad Al-Qawasmi the Boy Martyr
His story is more Cruel than Mohammad Al-Durra’s
The Zionist soldier put his leg on his neck and shot him in the head after injuring him
Contrary to the claim the occupation forces do not deliberately target children; statistics indicate that unarmed children are a frequent target of occupation soldiers. From the start of Al-Aqsa Intifada till 5 June 2005, the number of Palestinian children murdered by occupation troops and settlers stands at 707
Ahmad was a victim of the inhumanity of the occupation forces which is rarely documented. Ahmad was killed and a few witnesses saw the crime.
Childhood and Education
Ahmad was born in the 1st of December 1985 in Al-Khalil and enrolled in "King Khalid" school. Ahmad's teachers reported that he was an excellent, polite, calm student. He got high marks in the third preparatory before his martyrdom. He lived with 9 brothers and 5 sisters.
Ahmad felt sad because of what happened to Muhammad Al-Dura when the Zionist occupation forces shot him while hiding behind his father in 2000.
The story of Martyrdom
On Friday 8 December 2000, Ahmad took part in a demonstration that didn’t include any confrontations with the occupation forces. After the demonstration, Ahmad went to see the grave of the martyr "Hamza Abu Shekhadem".
A Zionist soldier shot him in the leg and left him bleeding. The child cried “Mom, Mom, Mom…” but his mother could not reach him. The soldier came to him and put his leg on his neck and shot him in the head and let him bleed.
A Palestinian witness came to rescue the child but the soldier prevented him. After a while, the Zionist soldier retreated as a result of the determination of the Palestinian civilian.
Ahmad was carried to Al-Ahli hospital where he died 3 days later.
