Family of Palestinian sick prisoner appeals for his release

February 13, 2007

Nablus - The family of Ismail Al-Jammal, who is held in Israeli prisons for three years now, on Tuesday addressed an urgent appeal to human rights organizations and the Red Cross to demand his release in view of his worsening health condition.

The family said that Ismail, 24, has been held in Israeli jails since 30/1/2004 and was suffering from bullets' wounds that were fired at him on his arrest.

Yehya Jammal, the brother of the prisoner, said that the Israeli prisons authority refuses to extend proper treatment to Ismail, who was sentenced to ten years in jail, despite his need for an urgent surgery.

Meanwhile, Israeli occupation police on Tuesday arrested more than 50 Palestinian Jerusalemites at the pretext of taking part in demonstrations last Friday against the Israeli excavations at the Aqsa Mosque.

The police statement said that the arrests were made based on photos taken for the demonstrators by cameras fixed in the Aqsa vicinity and on intelligence information.

It said that 71 Palestinians were so far arrested in Jerusalem for the same reason and that indictment lists would be presented against them within the few coming days.

The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Tuesday released Palestinian MP Ahmed Mubarak after seven months in administrative detention, without trial or charge.

The Israeli military court in Ofer turned down a request by the Israeli military prosecution to extend his detention for six more months that was tabled at the pretext that he was a Hamas member and posed danger on security.

Mubarak was arrested in July last year in the wake of the Palestinian resistance's capture of IOF serviceman Gilad Shalit in the Gaza Strip. The IOA arrested more than 40 MPs and ministers last summer who are still held in occupation jails.

At least this family knows where their terrorist relative is and he is very likely getting better medical care than he would ever get in his "home town." Where is Gilad Shalit and what is his condition? We Jews are not going anywhere so get over it!

Anonymous,

It is kind of interesting that the real terrorist calling someone else a terrorist, the world is smarter then your lack of judgment.

You are loosing your hold and you know it.

As for medical care, you mean prison with no medical, is better then home with medical?

Where is Gilad Shalit and what is his condition? Well he is in the Bahamas sipping margarita’s by the seashore and shopping at the duty free shops; a lot better then where you are at.

As for question and answer time, when are you Zionist going to release the prisoner‘s, especially the women and children?

Something I always wondered, do you Zionist like being thieves and enjoy murdering innocent people? I always got the idea the answer was yes!

We are not leaving either, so you take a laxative and get over it!

First, Ismail Al-Jammal was not arrested for nothing. He must have done something really bad.
Second, if you talking about “helod without trial or charge,” then what about Gilad Shalit? Isn’t he held without trial or charge?
As for the 40 “MP”s and “ministers” arrested last summer who are still held in occupation jails…give us Gilad Shalit and then we will THINK what to do with these lawlwess MP”s and “ministers.” Tit for tat is the mantra.

The thinker now, instead of Anonymous,

If we are playing first off, we end up in your prisons sometimes for sneezing on the sidewalk.

As for the other proposal, which your are dealing with a housewife only, we as Palestinians know all about your thinking process or I should return you compliment for lack of when you get what you want.

As for mantra’s, what are we doing playing chess? Are we at checkmate?
