The number of Palestinians arrested since the beginning of the second Intifada in September 2000 is over 40,000, including detainees in interrogation centers and detention centers.

Note:

The number of prisoner’s in Israeli Prison’s has increased substantially, because of the internal fighting between Hamas and Fatah. From what I have seen, it appears to be mostly from the Hamas Resistance group.

Also, a number of the Hamas group are in Palestinian Authority prison’s, under the control of Abbas and his Fatah fraction.
