Israeli PM Olmert to be questioned over fraud charges
Bethlehem – Ma'an – Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is due to be questioned over corruption charges by the National Fraud Investigation Unit on Tuesday.
Olmert has been accused of involvement in a bid to privatize the state-controlled Leumi Bank.
Olmert is to be questioned at his current residence in Jerusalem.
The Israeli PM allegedly attempted to use his authority to enable one of his friends to win the bid.
Ultimately, Olmert's friend, Australian businessman Frank Lowy, withdrew from the bid.
