Opening a Gate

3 March 2008

by HRM Deborah

I am going to write about some things here that is very emotional to me and has always created a very heavy heart and please bare with me that I do wish to explain in a manner that I hope people will understand correctly.

For a number of years, I did everything within my means to understand not only the Jewish Holocaust, the pogroms, but life for the Jewish people having to live in a Diaspora as well as maybe their feeling’s in this situation about where the word Anti-Semitism may have developed. While I may not know everything, because I do not walk in the Jewish people’s shoes.

As far as the Jewish Diaspora goes, I actually think I do understand many aspects because us as Palestinians are in much the same situation and has been going through the same types of situations and in all these respects for not only the Jewish people, but Palestinians I do carry a very heavy heart.

Furthermore, I am finding any people that has originated from the Middle East and they live any where else beside’s the Middle East, always seems to have some type of racism pitted towards them and for this I will never understand.

Now, I am going to try and explain, why their was never a need for a war between the Jewish people and the Palestinians.

At the beginning when the Jewish people wished to come to Palestine, they never did have to come armed with any type of weapon, because my Great Grandmother had offered already to help relieve the suffering the Jewish people was going through in the many foreign countries and it needs to be understood this was way before the Jewish Holocaust was to occur.

Even before the influx of Jew’s from outside of Palestine came their were already a fair size Jewish population living in Palestine in peace, they had been in Palestine for thousands of years. They lived side by side with the rest of the Palestinian populace and many respects we not only dressed alike but had similar customs. Even today these same Jewish Palestinians, are suffering as the Christian and Muslim Palestinians.

Back to my Great Grandmother, she offered for the Jewish people to come and live with us also in peace. It should be understood I think, that we as Palestinians have no disrespect towards the Jewish people.

Even in these modern time’s because of this war, as far as the Palestinians are concerned this is where part of the sorrow come’s in and I also find it a shame we became some what afraid of each other and I blame this on the lie’s not only told to the Jewish people, but the Palestinians from outside interests, who in my opinion are also the real instigator‘s of this whole war.

Even when the Jewish Holocaust occurred, their was no reason to go against God’s time table, because as I have said previously, my Grandmother wanted to help the Jewish people to be free from such a horrendous situation and the Palestinian people as a whole would have helped the Jewish Holocaust survivor’s.

The bottom line I am trying to make is, we as Palestinians really are not the enemy of the Jewish people nor did we ever wish to be.

Even right at this moment, with a truce between the Jewish and Palestinian people their is news sources which keep appearing that seems to be trying to instigate us to fight and I refuse to listen.

Myself, like my Great Grandmother, she would have rather put her arm’s around the Jewish people and wiped their tears, then ever had seen a war.
