President George W. Bush is greeted by New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin and his wife, Seletha Smith Nagin, on his arrival to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport Monday, April 21, 2008, where President Bush will attend the 2008 North American Leaders' Summit. (White House photo by Joyce N. Boghosian )Bush joins Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Mexican President Felipe Calderon on Monday in New Orleans for his fourth and final North American Leaders' Summit. Bush's is apparently to spend most of his time in a hotel and a historic former city hall in the Central Business District, far from the residential areas hit hardest by Katrina. His agenda includes a few events of local flavor along with diplomatic talks.
As for New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin shown above, he is a strong supporter of Bush’s and it has made many in New Orleans angry with Nagin’s remarks of how well New Orleans is doing when the homeless population is epidemic and damage from Katrina is in a horrific state; even with Bush’s back turning on his promises towards New Orleans.
Furthermore, as for myself, I happened to be out today, when one of Bush’s people spoke to me and apparently, Bush still wishes me to advocate. Hopefully it was made very clear to them, that I never plan on doing so.
