Bush's May Summit in Egypt

Mahmoud Abbas will meet U.S. President George W. Bush and Jewish Prime Minister Ehud Olmert at a peace summit in Egypt in May.

"A meeting will be held in mid-May in Sharm el-Sheikh between George W. Bush, Mahmoud Abbas and Ehud Olmert during Bush's visit to the region to follow up on negotiations over the peace process," said on condition of anonymity.

He said Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak would also attend the talks.

The summit is aimed at furthering force of Bush’s failed peace plan, which was initiated at a US-bolstered conference in November, but created opposition on all fronts.
