President stresses development of East Azarbaijan province

Tehran-President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday underscored the need for further development of East Azarbaijan province.

In a meeting with Majlis deputies from East Azarbaijan province, the president said there are great potentials in that northwestern province in different areas of agriculture, industry, culture and tourism.

Such potentials make the province as an exemplary province in the country, he added.

East Azarbaijan province is a national asset of the Islamic Republic, he said underlining the need for making great strides to help the province further develop.

The Iranian president called for greater efforts to help solve the existing problems facing the provincial people.

The government is doing its best to promote welfare and tranquility of all people throughout the country, he added.

Meanwhile, the MPs briefed President Ahmadinejad on the situation in their constituency and the problems facing the provincial people.
