Enemies fearful of Iranian nation: Shahroudi

16 October 2008

Tehran-Judiciary Chief Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi said on Thursday that enemies were frightened by Iranians faith and power.

"We are ready to defend our country and ideals. This has caused fear for the world arrogance and enemies of Islam," Shahroudi said addressing a morning parade of the armed forces in Ardebil province, northwestern Iran.

He stressed that the power of the Iranian armed forces was a deterrent factor against enemies threats.

"Today, the armed forces enjoy an appropriate and honorable position thanks to the wise guidelines of the Supreme Leader (Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei)," Shahroudi said.

He added that the armed forces shoulder a heavy responsibility in defending the country and the Islamic system.

Shahroudi added that Iran's armed forces have the most accurate and state-of-the-art equipment and technologies to confront enemies and resist against the arrogant system.
