Dear Mr. George Bush

Text of Iranian President Ahmadinejad's letter to President George W. Bush

Dear Mr George Bush Posted by Picasa

While the American government was reluctant to publish the original text except for excerpts, it is with great appreciation we have and idea of what is contained in the letter if not for our own knowledge; but for the ideals of history. I wish very much to thank the Iranian News Agency for their kindness.

Mr. George Bush,
President of the United States of America

For sometime now I have been thinking, how one can justify the undeniable contradictions that exist in the international arena -- which are being constantly debated, especially in political forums and amongst university students. Many questions remain unanswered. These have prompted me to discuss some of the contradictions and questions, in the hopes that it might bring about an opportunity to redress them.
Can one be a follower of Jesus Christ (PBUH), the great Messenger of God,
Feel obliged to respect human rights,
Present liberalism as a civilization model,
Announce one’s opposition to the proliferation of nuclear weapons and WMDs,
Make “War on Terror” his slogan,And finally,
Work towards the establishment of a unified international community – a community which Christ and the virtuous of the Earth will one day govern,
But at the same time,
Have countries attacked. The lives, reputations and possessions of people destroyed and on the slight chance of the presence of a few criminals in a village, city, or convoy for example, the entire village, city or convoy set ablaze.
Or because of the possibility of the existence of WMDs in one country, it is occupied, around one hundred thousand people killed, its water sources, agriculture and industry destroyed, close to 180,000 foreign troops put on the ground, sanctity of private homes of citizens broken, and the country pushed back perhaps fifty years. At what price? Hundreds of billions of dollars spent from the treasury of one country and certain other countries and tens of thousands of young men and women – as occupation troops – put in harms way, taken away from family and loved ones, their hands stained with the blood of others, subjected to so much psychological pressure that everyday some commit suicide and those returning home suffer depression, become sickly and grapple with all sorts of ailments; while some are killed and their bodies handed to their families.
On the pretext of the existence of WMDs, this great tragedy came to engulf both the peoples of the occupied and the occupying country. Later it was revealed that no WMDs existed to begin with.
Of course Saddam was a murderous dictator. But the war was not waged to topple him, the announced goal of the war was to find and destroy weapons of mass destruction. He was toppled along the way towards another goal; nevertheless the people of the region are happy about it. I point out that throughout the many years of the imposed war on Iran Saddam was supported by the West. The Letter

Iranian Letter: Using Religion to Lecture Bush

Editorial :

by Housewife4Palestine

While I took the time to read Iranian President Ahmadinejad's letter which was so graciously shared to the global community, I for one did not find the negative remarks and out right threats that was suggested from the White House. And I for one questioned the ideas of such threats from the beginning. While, I will have to admit, the current situation in the world with regards to U.S. policies and the treatment of others is to be taken into view. For any harm to another person, is an outrage.

What I did comprehend was what much of the global community outside of the United States thinks of Mr. Bush and his foreign policies as well as the deteriorating conditions being faced daily by the American’s, Palestinian’s and Iraqi people by Mr. Bush for example.

While President Ahmadinejad didn’t seem to approve of, is the manner that Bush has conducted himself as well as his policies and I for one had to agree with much he had to say mainly because it did bring to light a few things that even I did not know such as mineral rights theft in Africa.

Or how much Mr. Bush seemed to have turned his back on the Christian religion in the way he conducts himself and then defends what he doesn’t practice is greatly in question. And what I had seen, even as far back as when he was Governor of Texas, must be reviewed because he did a disservice actually to the common man in Texas; then went on to harm a whole country in the same way.

To me much that has came out of the White House the last few years reminds me of the worse kind of children in the playground that I assure you nobody should wish for a friend, these are the bad children I think most Mother’s warn heavily about their children associating with; due to the fact that most Mother’s do not want their children to act like the history of Charles Manson family only in better dress.

What I found interesting is even before I had ever read President Ahmadinejad's letter it was expressed to me numerous of times that Bush very well will go down in history as the worst American President.

As a last note, I find it interesting that Iranian President Ahmadinejad in his letter would yet put out the olive branch to help Mr. Bush towards an invitation to monotheism and justice; which I have to find is very commendable on his part.

President says his letter to President Bush was invitation to Islam

May 11,2006

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Thursday that his letter to President George W. Bush did not concern the nuclear dossier, but rather was an invitation to Islam and the prophets culture.

He made the above remarks in reply to a reporter while attending press conference on his letter to President Bush in Jakarta in the afternoon of the third day of his stay in Jakarta.

Stressing that the letter was beyond the nuclear issue, the chief executive said that in principle, the country's nuclear case is not so significant to make him write a letter about it.

"We act according to laws and our activities are quite clear. We are rather intent on solving more fundamental global matters.

"The letter was an invitation to monotheism and justice, which are common to all divine prophets. If the call is responded positively, there will be no more problems to be solved," added the president.

The president said that the letter actually contained a clear message of invitation to human beliefs, adding that its response will determine the future.

Concerning Iran's readiness to hold talks with the US, he said that Iran is in favor of dialogues, but it depends on the conditions.

"We hold talks with our allies, such as Indonesia, quite smoothly. However those intending to speak to us with authority should attempt to change their attitude," he added.

About the possibility of military attack on Iran, he said that psychological war is quite likely and expressed his doubt about the military option.

In response to a question about suspension of enrichment, the president said that Iran will agree to suspend the process only if all those having access to nuclear fuel will suspend theirs and let their relevant facilities be inspected.

"Otherwise, we do not find it necessary to suspend our uranium enrichment and consider the call for it as unfair and will continue to reject it,"
In reply to another question whether Iran will need the assistance of other Islamic states in its nuclear issue, he said that the country has the potential to defend itself.

"However, given that we do not merely defend our own nation, we wish to feel the presence of our allies, including Indonesia as one of our closest friends," he added.

In response to a question about Indonesia's mediation between Iran and the US, he said that if such dialogue has to take place for the sake of global peace and detente, Iran prefers Indonesia to be one of the negotiators.
