The use of secondary devices near the site of an improvised explosive device (IED) attack is a tactic commonly used by resistance in Iraq.


In this video, a secondary IED detonates very near troops as they assist an Iraqi tank clear the aftermath of an earlier vehicle borne improvised explosive device (VBIED).


Secondary explosive device can be set to detonate by timer, remote control or through direct accidental triggering (booby trap).
