November 8,2006

Nablus - Thousands of Palestinian students at the biggest Palestinian university, the Najah University in Nablus city, signed Tuesday with their blood a giant document refusing to recognize Israel.

The Islamic bloc, academic wing of Hamas, in the University prepared the memo with the headline: "The pledge is not to recognize Israel and we sign for that", and put it in the University's main plaza where students flocked to sign it with their blood.

Later, members of the bloc carried the 20-meters-long document in the University chanting slogans against Israel and against calls to recognize it.

The official in the bloc Mohammed Jaradat affirmed that signing the memo with the students' blood reflects the pulse of this important stratum in the Palestinian community.

In Al-Khalil city, Palestinian citizens observed a general strike held in the city over the IOF bloody crime in Beit Hanun city, as thousands of the citizens held massive rallies in condemnation of the massacre, urging armed wings of the Palestinian resistance factions to avenge the crime in the "Israeli depth".
