Iran: Speaker denounces US double-standard in region
Tehran- Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani on Sunday condemned the double-standard policy adopted by Washington in the Middle East.
Addressing formal session of Majlis this morning, he stressed that the people living in the region are fed up with the US behavior.
Expressing condolences on the occasion of martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali al-Naqi (AS), the tenth Imam of the infallible household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), he deplored the bombing of two holy shrines in the Iraqi city of Samarra last June.
The holy shrines of Imams, Ali al-Naqi (AS) and Hassan al-Askariya (AS) in Samarra, 100 km north of Baghdad, were hit by terrorists.
The two holy shrines had already been attacked on February 22, 2006.
Larijani regretted that the holy shrines have not been reconstructed yet.
He also condemned what he termed the "manifestation of modern ignorance and inattention to culture and civilization of one billion Muslims all over the world", a reference to negligence of international law by the US occupation force in Iraq to guarantee security of the holy sites.
