Jewish Wife Wishes for Return of Husband

Karnit Goldwasser, wife of captured Jewish soldier Ehud (Udi) Goldwasser, who along with Eldan Regev is being held by Hezbollah in Lebanon, expresses her hope that her husband will soon be released during a demonstration outside of Jewish Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's office on 29 June 2008 in Jerusalem.

The protestors were calling on the Jewish cabinet to approve a German-mediated deal to swap Regev and Goldwasser, who were captured by Hezbollah in a cross-border raid in July 2006, for five Lebanese being held in Jewish jails as well as the bodies of dead Hezbollah militia from the military campaign that Jewish people launched in a failed attempt to get the two reservists back.

While Jewish cabinet approved the German-mediated deal to swap Regev and Goldwasser, it was reported that Hezbollah had also agreed to the exchange.
