Guadeloupe Economic Riot

A man looks at the burned remains of a car after rioting over the rising cost of living on the Caribbean island of Guadeloupe. The tiny island state has been gripped by month-long strikes; due to the depressive economic conditions similar to what is occurring in the United States; on 17 February 2009.

The riot was due to the people of this country, wishing better conditions, such as rise in employment pay and lower living cost's; that has been apparently strangling the citizen’s of Guadeloupe, just trying to survive from day to day.

But yet the demonstrator’s are still bound by the ties of slavery, thought long forgotten; as it continues to raise its head like a cobra, with blood stained fangs.
