Iraq on 20 March marks the sixth anniversary of the US-led imposed war that toppled US executed Iraqi Leader Saddam Hussein; but triggered an Iraqi resistance to occupation, with the US murderous Islamophobic rage with such atrocious atrocities as US genocide, occupation and oppression, to virtual type of slavery towards the Iraqi people and further violence of the same nature in Afghanistan.

Guadeloupe Economic Riot

The riot was due to the people of this country, wishing better conditions, such as rise in employment pay and lower living cost's; that has been apparently strangling the citizen’s of Guadeloupe, just trying to survive from day to day.

But yet the demonstrator’s are still bound by the ties of slavery, thought long forgotten; as it continues to raise its head like a cobra, with blood stained fangs.

As a valuable resource of history shadowed into modern times is the accusations of Nazism being accused by those who are actuality guilty of this act of barbarism towards certain facets of humanity, which did started before the Jewish Holocaust of the 1930’s and 1940’which is still occurring to this very day; the only difference which is not much, is the more wide spread attacks on the Islamic community or as before, anyone who opposing the Nazi ideology.

It is a well known fact the U.S. President George W. Bush’s grandfather Prescott Bush, along with certain other financers where the major contributors of funding to Adolph Hitler and with Hitler’s ‘Final Solution’ what thought to be throttled as of 1945; one truly need’s to understand this is not the case, but something that is a more sinister continuation within US.

All the US secret camps, the ones that have been built within the US and especially for example the most famous Guantanamo Bay Detention Center; which in all reality has all the earmarks of a Concentration Camp right down to what may never be fully known of as the numbers of dead that are mysteriously buried there.

People speak of AIPAC and people within the US being Pro-Israel which in actuality it is being found to actually be a cover for US Nazism and while one may ask if Nazism occurred after World War 2 the answer is actually, NO. One may find reference to this with the American Nazi Bunds’ which while some will say they where executed for Nazism, this is actually not quite the case.

Up until this year, with the ending of the war in Palestine the Jewish people where slaves with the extension of the ‘Final Solution’ by the US’s part during World War 2 and what may not be readily known accept for references I have made previously that the true Palestinians have always been with the Jewish people as apart of this extermination solution.

Who may very well be behind this very old ‘Final Solution’ fence, anyone! But the main target’s have been true Palestinians and the Jewish people along into our more modern times, is anyone that is Muslim; which came with the ideological birth of Islamophobia.

Within Palestine itself the US collaborators towards aiding in this 'Final Solution,’ is global terrorist Interpol fugitive Mahmoud Abbas and his organization; on the outside is the main bulk of the US itself towards the whole of the global community to finalize this goal and to remove anyone as in World War 2 for example that get’s in the way. This is why some dignitaries for example have received death threats or other types of illegal attacks from something that may seem small to court litigation in some cases stemming from the US, with front men such as the case that occurred towards Jewish PM Ehud Olmert and that Olmert was never guilty of the charges posed against him; but it was an attempt to remove him from office because of him helping all those within Palestine and helping to end the war. Which there been references within previous writing of mine, that I too have been maltreated because of trying to do good for everyone, especially within my country; not withstanding of my part in ending the war.

As to in many cases the US Nazi party that works heatedly in the field of media propaganda, to out right pointing fingers at innocent people, the bird will eventually fly over and lay a cake on the US’s clean hair.

But the major problem is after this many years, when will these type of heinous crimes be over and everyone can breath again without standing behind the fence of oppression and death?

*There where a handful in the US military during this time period that wanted to enter the European war for two years to help the Holocaust detainee’s, but where told to stand down and where refused to go by Roosevelt. This was explained by a first hand account of one of the former US military veterans, many years ago. It is further thought by the one that gave the first hand account, that many people in the concentration/extermination camps could have been saved if they had been allowed to go in; within this two year period.

It should be further understood, that not all American’s at this time knew Nazism was on US soil, but some of these same men later joined this ideology to further initiate the same tactic’s on US and foreign soil that occurred during the 1930’s Holocaust as is seen today. Some of the method’s of torture for example, I understand that has been used on myself and was explained in the above article.

To not further forget the untold extensive numbers of Islamic, Jewish martyrs and Christian (Helpers) that many are also martyrs for trying to save Muslims and Jews, which one was a very pious old Church of Christ minister (when I was four years old, he was murdered for saving the life of my mother and myself); since 1945, that is still occurring to this very day.

For example, the American Commandos not of Indian nationality; who stormed across Mumbai, India murdering Jews in there wake, reported today and apparently including also the murders of 22 foreigners — two of them happened to be Americans (A former Brooklyn Ultra-Orthodox Jewish Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi and his wife). Which the Jewish people where not allowed to render aid to the victims nor stop the American Commandos from there further killing spree, it was further reported; in this further extent of the Holocaust and not to ever forget these new martyrs along with those who came before.

Nevertheless, what comes to mind and I understand about respecting the laws of other countries, but I contend I do not understand why the Jewish people or any true Palestinian citizen (excluding the criminal illegal Canaanites)could not help those who where being slaughtered in India or to help capture the perpetrators of this heinous crime? Hopefully in the very near future, this type of situation can be rectified; as is allowed of those from other countries when there people are in trouble especially this type and I am very adamant on this and should be set right immediately.

The estimated count of the victim’s of the Mumbai, India American commando terrorist attack (not people from Pakistan as claimed by the Americans) are those killed at least 195 people, with 610 people rescued from the two hotels and also Nariman House. The main targets of this attack, where people who where of the Jewish religion.

Obama and McCain Believe in Warmongering with Bait?

WASHINGTON-Barack Obama and John McCain each promise that as president they would continue to transform the U.S. military into a bigger, more agile force that can tackle insurgencies and help allies thwart terrorism.

However, the candidates differ on what role the military should play in global affairs.

"The Department of Defense has been the pre-emptive force of the last eight years," said Col. Michael Meese, a professor and the head of the department of social sciences at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Whether Defense continues in that role - or the State Department, with the U.S. Agency for International Development, picks it up - is a question for the next administration, Meese said.

While there may be big differences in how the presidential candidates would use the military, they generally agree on what kind of force the U.S. needs.

"Temperamentally, Senators Obama and McCain are very different on defense. But when you read the details of their defense positions, they are remarkably similar," said Loren Thompson, a defense analyst with the Lexington Institute, a conservative public policy organization. "They both want to bolster intelligence, focus on counter-terrorism, reduce big-ticket weapons systems and crack down on defense contracts."

Both men call for rebuilding U.S. ground forces, whose troops and equipment have been exhausted by seven years of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. The next president will find a military that's still struggling to balance training for counter-insurgency and maintaining its ability to fight conventional wars.

McCain would like to increase the size of U.S. ground forces - the Army and Marines - by 150,000 troops to roughly 900,000.

Obama supports a Pentagon plan to expand the Army by 65,000 and the Marines by 27,000 in the next decade.

Obama and McCain also have said that they're concerned about the shortage of non-commissioned officers in the Army because so many mid-career senior enlisted men and women are leaving the military, exhausted by multiple tours in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Both candidates want to add more military civil-affairs units, which are battalion-size units of roughly 600 troops designed to work with local governments in the wake of conflicts. Such units could help the U.S. rebuild Iraq and Afghanistan, but neither candidate offers specifics on how large a military civil-affairs force should be.

Obama says the National Guard needs better equipment and health care and has called for it to have a greater role.

McCain has made veterans issues a priority, promising to get veterans better health care. He also has supported increasing the monthly veterans' education benefit to $1,500 from $1,200.

They both support missile defense, although Obama has called for more testing of the systems, while McCain has said he wants to deploy them as quickly as possible.

Both candidates have called for more transparency in how the Pentagon doles out defense contracts. McCain, who led the fight against a huge Air Force tanker contract, has promised to review defense contracts and opposes emergency bills to supplement the defense budget.

Obama has said he would trim supplemental bills for defense spending and that overall defense spending would remain steady.

"Whether we get Obama or McCain, we will get a bigger military. They will have different attitudes on how it is used," Thompson said.

McCain, a former Navy pilot and prisoner of war in Vietnam, has suggested that the military can be the face of U.S. engagement around the world.

He's called for U.S. troops to remain in Iraq until victory is assured. His campaign has said the surge was such a success in Iraq that the U.S. military should apply the "surge principles" in Afghanistan, suggesting that he'd send more troops there. He's also called for more training of allies that are combating terrorism within their borders.

McCain also has said that the U.S. can't allow Iran to develop its nuclear arsenal, suggesting that he'd use force if necessary to prevent that.

"There is only one thing worse than a military solution," McCain said in July 2007. "And that ... is a nuclear-armed Iran."

Obama also has said that a nuclear-armed Iran is unacceptable, but he's put more emphasis on trying to reach a negotiated settlement with Tehran. In fact, Obama has made it clear that he thinks robust U.S. diplomacy could substitute, at least in part, for the Bush administration's reliance on the military to carry out America's will in the world.

The Democratic presidential nominee has vowed to end the war in Iraq and to bring U.S. combat forces home over 16 months. He'd shift some U.S. forces from Iraq into Afghanistan, which he calls the real front line in the war on terror, and it's where the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks were planned.

Obama also has pushed for the U.S. military to enter Pakistan, unilaterally if necessary, to go after Osama bin Laden. McCain has criticized Obama's stand, saying he's announcing his plan to the enemy and inviting Pakistani resistance rather than cooperation, but McCain's also called Pakistan "a failed state."

"Both have an appreciation for the limits of military power. But they must decide: Does the United States want to be involved in nation building?" said Jake Kipp, the deputy director of the School of Advanced Military Studies at Fort Leavenworth, Kan.

For all their plans, the next president cannot fully predict how he'd use the military.

"There are things that cannot be controlled by the new president. A lot of times, he will be responding to events," Kipp said. "As they say in the military: The enemy has a vote."

Commentary:

The only comment's I am going to make is this article is laced with the old US President George W Bush lies, which propagated the global war of unrest within the Bush administration that has destroyed countless of lives from the US to global, genocide, slavery, occupation, poverty, to a big chunk of helping to collapse the US's economy, naming just a few examples and apparently; Obama and McCain plan on following in Bush’s sweat, odor, stained shoes.

Their only difference is to entice people to murder and die with bait inducements.

American people back Iran's right to enrich uranium: Chomsky

Berlin-The American people support Iran's right to enrich uranium and are "strongly opposed" to issuing any military threats against the Islamic Republic over its nuclear program, said a leading US foreign policy expert in an exclusive phone interview with IRNA in Berlin on Saturday.

Noam Chomsky lashed out at western media reports saying Tehran was "defying the world" over its nuclear program.

"That's a funny definition of the 'world'. The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), for example which is the majority of countries, endorses Iran's right to enrich uranium," said Chomsky.

"Now nobody thinks they have the right to develop nuclear weapons, however that's different issue. But the majority of the (American) population agrees (on Iran's right to enrich uranium)," he added.

Iran has repeatedly stressed that having nuclear arms would be against its Islamic teachings and laws.

The distinguished 80-year-old professor emeritus of linguistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) said, "Public opinion here overwhelmingly holds that Iran should have the right to develop nuclear energy..."

Chomsky reaffirmed also that Iran was "of course entitled to uranium enrichment as a member of the NPT."

The US scholar made clear that most Americans reject the Iran policy of President George W. Bush.

"With regard to Iran, a substantial segment of pretty mainstream opinion has been harshly critical of the confrontational approach and has called for negotiations and diplomacy," Chomsky said.

He added there could have been a US-Iranian "rapprochement for the last 10 years."

"It did not happen because of the extremism of the Bush administration was simply directed at making relations harsher, more bitter, militarizing them and that's why the Bush administration even antagonized allies," Chomsky said.

Asked whether the US-Iranian estrangement could finally end, he pointed to the possibility of a "working relationship" between both adversaries.

Chomsky emphasized that a working relationship between the US and Iran could "improve the overall situation" in the Middle East.

"There is a strong establishment pressure ... moving towards a diplomatic and developmental approach rather than a military approach.

The American popular opinion is strongly in support of it," Chomsky added.

He emphasized Washington's hostile stance towards Tehran stems from Iran's refusal "to subordinate itself to the US will." "Iran is an independent actor. It is defiant of the US and that's not tolerated," Chomsky said.

"In fact that's official policy going back to War II in which the US would try to create a world order in which it is dominant. No exercise of sovereignty should be tolerated, if it intervenes with US efforts to construct a certain kind of world order," he added.

The American professor said the US viewed Iran as an "impediment" to its energy interests in the Middle East.

"Nobody is seriously concerned about Iranian aggression. There has been no sign of any. But they are upset about Iran's influence in the region. Also in the background is the concern that Iran might turn East. That's not discussed very much but that's certainly a policy concern," the feisty US political dissident added.

Chomsky's political activism dates back to the Vietnam War in the early 1960s when he established himself as a prominent critic of American foreign and domestic policy.

Commentary:
As to Mr. Noam Chomsky speaking in this manner about Iran, I will admit I was surprised had to agree with him on some points and with no disrespect, on different occasion’s with his views on Palestine; I will admit, I did not always agree with his ideas on numerous issues that appeared contrary, to what actually was going on in the country.

But as far as Iran, he is much more on the spot in my opinion, then he was on Palestine, which I thought was a bit more negative bias of all things; towards the Jewish people. But this also comes at a time when people where being lied to so badly by the US it made the head swim, which may have been his dilemma also, but this is only a guess.

Even for me wishing so much to do what was good and right for everyone in my country and to actually understand why there was a war, in learning it should have came under the heading that, ‘the truth was stranger then the fiction’ or the US created such a tangled weave they made to practice to deceive; not just everyone in Palestine, but the globe.

Furthermore, in learning the truth, what was so very hard for me and actually stomach wrenching, was how anyone could subject people to such cruelty as the US did because they believe in Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia; which as everyone knows, I certainly do not.

This is one of the reason’s why what occurred to the Black American’s and the cruelty that has been done to them for far to long, kept coming into focus in my mind; to even what actually did occur that created the Holocaust, that the Jewish and Palestinian people where so horribly subjected too. To understand this situation, one did not just take into account the 108 year war, but a much larger scope of history of extermination and slavery of a historical people both Jewish and Muslim of a country known as Palestine, that is very loved by Allah (God) Himself; to what is occuring among people all over the globe.

People may call this situation by any number of definitions today, such as Global Domination or what have you; but the bottom line is death, slavery and sorrow. Which will never be acceptable in any manner of normal human reasoning; in part in the name of Democracy and some in blasphemy of using, 'in the name of Christianity;' which is being seen more on a daily basis.

Nevertheless, what happened in Palestine to create this horrible scenario, was to create what became known as the Gladiator Syndrome, so that two groups of people that happened to be Muslim and Jewish would fight; which was against there will, do to the historical significance that they are family and had always embraced in love for each other in the past.

But yet, this still only part of what has occurred, especially using the known historical 9,000 old opponent’s of the Jewish and Palestinian people against them, namely the Canaanites; in US collaboration; with the Canaanites age old thirst to steal all of Palestine, by blood.

But even yet, as to the global situation, one could continue far into the shadows of the night.

Palestine Believes in Human Right's and the Eradication of Poverty

Last Friday marked the UN's International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, which commemorates the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Whether it is poverty or human rights, we as people across the globe should do our part to make a happier world for everyone.

Furthermore, as to these issue‘s, the Palestinian people are very strong advocates for a better world, free of poverty and stand firm on the issue of human right‘s especially right now in a world where too many people are having there basic right‘s violated; through such means as war, slavery, oppression, torture, terrorism and genocide.

Personally, it is a hope that in the future, these types of violations as well as other’s similar; become the past and with the valuable resources that we have as a global community, to one day irradiate poverty from our landscape completely.

Nevertheless, it should always be a reminder, that all people are important and we should always appreciate with the values to work together to actually resolve these global problems.-HRM Deborah

Iraq has secured the right to prosecute US soldiers and civilians for crimes committed outside their bases and when off duty, in the latest draft of a security pact that will set the terms of their deployment beyond this year.

As I saw the above statement, this further reminds of the occupation and repression of the Iraqi people; if this is not an element of slavery to the indigenous people of a country; what is?

The Iraq people should have always had the right to prosecute criminal’s in there own county, I thought this usually went without saying; I guess in Iraq there is different rules imposed by the US.

Jewish Palestinians Not Welcome in U.S.

US President George W. Bush announced a decision over the weekend to exempt the citizens of seven more countries from the need to apply for U.S. visas; Jewish Palestinians was not among the seven.

The U.S. is also supporting the same measure for an additional six countries - Jewish Palestinians, again, is not one of them. The countries that received the exemptions are Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and South Korea.

The six additional countries on the road to visa exemption are Bulgaria, Cyprus, Malta, Poland and Romania. Several of these countries have assisted the U.S. in its “war on terror,” particularly in occupation activities in Afghanistan.

Despite the former relationship between Jewish Palestinians and the U.S., the latter has refused Jewish Palestinians requests in recent years to expedite visa exemptions. Interior Minister Meir Sheetrit made an official request on the matter two weeks ago when he met in Washington two weeks ago with Secretary for Homeland Security Michael Chertoff and Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte.

Sheetrit was told that the U.S. wants to move the matter ahead but that Jewish Palestinians has to meet certain conditions, including a biometric passport containing fingerprint or iris identification.

The Jewish cabinet approved biometric passports a month ago but a long legislative process awaits in the Knesset on the matter, and biometric passports will likely only come into use at the end of 2009.

A senior Jewish government official said in Jerusalem last week that "without biometric passports, no progress is expected" on the matter.

It is further thought since the Jewish Palestinians have gained there freedom from U.S. 108 year-old slavery, that the U.S. as they have done others in the past, turns there back and thinks they can throw people to the wolves; while some have gone this way in the past, the Jewish Palestinians will always be the acceptation to the rule.

As for Jewish Palestinians no longer being financed by the U.S., to these new political games, maybe the Jewish Palestinians are better off looking elsewhere and not allow further mistreatment by the U.S.

Nevertheless, Jewish Palestinians have proven time and again they are good people and do not need to be subjected to abuse or mistreatment as was done to them formally by the US government or others in history and are greatly appreciated in Palestine.

In a matter of weeks, a Russian naval squadron will arrive in the waters off Latin America for the first time since the Cold War. It is already getting a warm welcome from some in a region where the influence of the United States is in decline.

"The U.S. Fourth Fleet can come to Latin America but a Russian fleet can't?" said Ecuador's president, Rafael Correa. "If you ask me, any country and any fleet that wants can visit us. We're a country of open doors."

The United States has collapsed its power in Latin America by most measures, including trade, military cooperation and the sheer size of its embassies. Yet U.S. clout in what it once considered its backyard has sunk to perhaps the lowest point in decades. As Washington has also loss its footing in the Middle East, Latin America swung away from Washington also.

The United States' financial crisis is not helping. Latin American countries forced by Washington to swallow painful austerity measures in the 1980s and 1990s are aghast at the U.S. failure to police its own markets.

"We did our homework — and they didn't, they who've been telling us for three decades what to do," the man who presides over Latin America's largest economy, President Luiz Inacio Lula de Silva of Brazil, complained bitterly.

Latin America's more than 550 million people now "have every reason to view the U.S. as a banana republic," says analyst Michael Shifter of the Inter-American Dialogue think tank in Washington. "U.S. lectures to Latin Americans about excess greed and lack of accountability have long rung hollow, but today they sound even more ridiculous."

From 2002 through 2007, the U.S. image eroded in all six Latin American countries polled by the Pew organization, especially in Venezuela, Argentina and Bolivia. (The others were Brazil, Peru and Mexico.) People surveyed in 18 Latin American countries rated President Bush among the least popular leaders in 2007, along with President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and just ahead of basement-bound Fidel Castro of Cuba, according to the Latinobarometro group of Chile.

In three years of presidential elections ending last year, Latin Americans chose mostly leftist leaders, and only Colombia and El Salvador elected unalloyed pro-U.S. chief executives. In May, the prestigious U.S. Council on Foreign Relations declared the era of U.S. hegemony in the Americas over. And in September, Bolivia and Venezuela both expelled their U.S. ambassadors, accusing them of meddling.

U.S. Economic and Faltering Funding
Along with the loss in political standing has come a decline in economic power. U.S. direct investment in Latin America slid from 30 percent to 20 percent of the total from 1998 to 2007, according to the U.N. Economic Commission on Latin American and the Caribbean.

The U.S. still does $560 billion in trade with Latin America, but in the meantime other countries are muscling in. China's trade with Latin America jumped from $10 billion in 2000 to $102.6 billion last year. In May, a state-owned Chinese company agreed to buy a Peruvian copper mine for $2.1 billion. Which all these trade funds are going to war funding.

Other countries are also biting into U.S. military sales in the region. Boeing Co. is vying with finalists from France and Sweden for the sale of 36 jet fighters to Brazil. Venezuela's Chavez has committed to buying more than $4 billion in Russian arms, from Sukhoi jet fighters to Kalashnikov assault rifles. In April, Brazil and Russia agreed to jointly design top-line jet fighters and satellite-launch vehicles, and Brazil is getting technology from France to build a submarine.

"Similar deals could have been made with the United States had it been willing to share its technology," said Geraldo Cavagnari, of the University of Campinas near Sao Paulo.

Last month, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin offered to help Chavez develop nuclear power. Even Colombia, the staunchest U.S. ally in South America, isn't limiting its options. After expressing alarm about the Russian warships a week ago, its defense minister, Juan Manuel Santos, promptly headed for Russia himself to discuss "better relations in defense." Chavez says he expects to hold joint Russian-Venezuelan naval exercises as early as November.

Bolivia also is looking to deepen ties with Russia and Iran.

Although the Islamic republic's ambassador has yet to arrive in South America's poorest country, its top diplomat there announced Friday that Iran will open two low-cost public health clinics.

And while Bolivia's only announced Russian hardware purchase is five helicopters for civil defense, Moscow's ambassador told the AP — after Bolivia booted the U.S. ambassador — that Russia has every right to help Latin American nations arm themselves.

"We know of many historical cases of U.S. intervention in Latin American countries," said the diplomat, Leonid Golubev.

Thomas Shannon, U.S. assistant secretary of state for the hemisphere, wouldn't comment directly on whether the U.S. has lost influence in Latin America. But he added that there is no doubt that the U.S. still holds most of the military power in the Caribbean, and said it has no interest in reviving "Cold War rhetoric." Shannon also noted that overall U.S. aid to the region will reach $2.2 billion for 2009, to total more than $14 billion during Bush's presidency. It has also been found that US influence in the Caribbean has also became something of a yesteryear.

However, critics point out that roughly half that aid is for the military or counter narcotics, and that Washington’s finances annually to the Jews in Palestine has collapsed; due to there
physical freedom from slavery by U.S. influence and the independence of Palestine, on 14 March 2008. Even U.S. giving has been dwarfed by Chavez's checkbook diplomacy, which easily eclipses U.S. aid between outright gifts and discounted oil.

His largesse has lured several longtime U.S. friends. Honduras' president, Manuel Zelaya, said last month that after pleading with Washington and the World Bank, he accepted $300 million a year from Chavez for agricultural investment to help fight rising food prices.

Costa Rica's president, Oscar Arias, says Venezuela offers Latin America about four or five times as much money as the United States. Costa Rica has become the 19th member of Petrocaribe, through which Chavez sells Caribbean and Central American nations cut-rate oil at very low interest.

The diminished profile of the U.S. in Latin America comes after a history of influence dating back to President Franklin Roosevelt's "Good Neighbor" policy of the 1930s, which emphasized cooperation and trade over military intervention. There have been major bailouts, such as Washington's $20 billion rescue of Mexico in the 1994 peso devaluation crisis. As former Assistant Secretary of State Otto Reich noted, "We are the assistance bureau of first choice for the region."

History of covert intervention
But the U.S. has an ugly legacy of covert intervention there, including in Chile, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Cuba. Chile's center-left president, Michele Bachelet, was jailed and tortured by a U.S.-backed military dictatorship in the 1970s. She recently recalled telling Washington's ambassador to Chile an old joke: "Some say the only reason there's never been a coup in the United States is because there's no U.S. Embassy in the United States."

The United States has also long served as chief educator to Latin America's elite. Correa is among its presidents with a U.S. graduate degree — though that didn't stop him from accusing the CIA of infiltrating his military, or refusing to renew a lease for U.S. counter drug missions to fly out of Ecuador.

With the U.S. facing its own financial crisis, it's unlikely to be able to leverage economic influence in Latin America anytime soon. Sen. Barack Obama's senior adviser on Latin America, Dan Restrepo, acknowledges that his candidate is essentially proposing a symbolic shift in style — albeit adding a special White House envoy for the Americas.

"Barack doesn't see the United States as the savior of the Americas, but as a constructive partner," Restrepo told the AP.

Reich, an adviser to Sen. John McCain who served three Republican presidents in the region, put it even more bluntly.

"No matter who is elected in November, there is not going to be any money for Latin America," he said. "Latin Americans expecting financial resources, any kind of help from the United States, they are barking up the wrong tree."
