Hands Forever Bond Together

Jewish Prime Minister Ehud Olmert speaks during the weekly cabinet meeting at his Jerusalem office, on 16 November 2008 in Jerusalem.

Olmert appears distressed with the continuing attacks by the Canaanites and rightly so with the continuous bombardment towards the Jewish people and true Palestinians.

It is a great hope that this problem with the Canaanites eviction to be solved soon, so that everyone that rightly belongs in Palestine may live together always in peace and very good friendship; for these things should never diminish.

Nevertheless, as we keep learning and appreciating each other, life seems to keep getting much brighter; with the bond we have had since the beginning of time.

Furthermore, that which is being understood these day’s; I hold in much gratitude deep within my heart as a excellent reminder of time past.

Kramer meet's with Foreign Journalists' Association

A very friendly looking Stephan Kramer with a nice smile, is General Secretary of the Central Council of Jews in Germany (Zentralrat der Juden in Deutschland).

Here Kramer poses for a brief portrait next to some pleasant greenery, before meeting with the Foreign Journalists' Association, on 6 November 2008 in Berlin, Germany.

The Central Council of Jews is the biggest and most influential Jewish organization in Germany.

Mr. Kramer for some reason reminds me of a boy in one neighborhood where I lived when I was about six years old, we went to the same school; for in Southern California it was required to go to kindergarten and nevertheless, we where friends until we had to move.

This particular class in school, if you where Arab, Jewish or Hispanic the other children did not seem to like us, so we all became friends together.

Furthermore, this boys father use to collect and refurbish antique cars and lived in a very nice home.

Something else I happened to remember, is this boy came to visit my home when it was just Mother and I one time around the 14 of February; I had caught an illness that was going around in school and he wanted to know how I was. He seemed to be very concerned that I was sick and wanted me to know, that he hoped I got better very quickly.
Also, he made a very good impression on my mother, she thought he was a very nice, good boy and was happy we where friends; she came to this conclusion I think, on the day he came when I was sick.

All these years, I always wondered what became of my childhood friend and if he has a happy life and have wished him much happiness, for the kindness he shared when we where children. Just think this has been almost forty-five years ago.

Nevertheless, I even still remember sitting in the ‘block room’ building bridges with the wooden block’s; to further understood that my friend and I would always be good friends no matter where we should be in life, which has always been wonderful thoughts to hold unto. For school or where ever we use to be, we could always count and watch out for each other no matter what.-HRM Deborah

Warm Greetings to the People of Sri Lanka

Global terrorist Interpol fugitive Mahmoud Abbas (C) was an unwelcome participant in this photograph, along with honored members of the Palestinian Friendship Association; pose with a banner representing the Sri Lanka Committee for Solidarity with Palestine (CSP), on 10 October 2008 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

by HRM Deborah

It is so lovely to have the opportunity to send such warm greeting’s to the kind people of Sri Lanka and the People of Palestine so greatly appreciate your warm kindness and support towards us.

I do apologize that such a man like global terrorist Interpol fugitive Mahmoud Abbas had to darken the country of Sri Lanka for a very short time and it is a hope in the future you should not be subjected to such a horrible man. If circumstances where different, Abbas would not have been in your country to began with.

Over the years what I could, I have tried to learn of Sri Lanka, but my knowledge is a bit short because of my situation and I hope everyone understands, because I wish it was not so.

Nevertheless, I do understand that the country is as beautiful as her people and for this; I have much gratitude to know there are people like the people Sri Lanka in the world and we have the opportunity to be friends.

For the love of Esther

5 May 2008

by HRM Deborah

In this blog, several times, I have either written about or made reference to a very dear friend named Esther that I have kept in my heart all these years.

I may have mentioned before that I was only about 8-10 years old when I knew her and she just happened to have been one of Oskar Schindler’s Jews.

She seems to come more to mind these days, I am thinking because of the recent holidays for the Jewish people, but also the approaching holiday of the Al-Nakba.

To me in a very short period of time, I feel I had gotten to know her quite well, even if my knowledge at that time of the Jewish Holocaust may have been small, even to this day I must admit I do not know everything.

Several times I had seen a book by Thomas Keneally, called "Schindler’s List" and because of wishing to know more of what happened to my friend and I happen to have seen a movie by the same title doesn’t always tell a person everything they may wish to know; so I got the book today.

For me because my friend did not go in depth to what happened to her, other then she lost all of her family in the Holocaust and she was the only survivor and I was later to get to know someone that could explain more to me about my friend, I did wish to understand what really happened to her. Mainly, because of my love for her even to this day.

One thing at the time that I knew her, has always stayed in my mind and it came the last day I was to ever see her and she said these things to me within her tears. She was crying that day because she was to leave me and she would never see me again.

This has been a puzzle to me every since that day, that she thought the only reason she survived the horrors of what the holocaust did to her and even loosing her family, that she would meet someone like me one day. She said these things to me out of respect and love, while I do not know if it was because of who I would become in my future because of my family or something she saw within me that made her feel at peace.

I hope one day, to know the answer.

Nice Day for a Picnic

If Teddy Bears Ruled The World
If teddy bears ruled the world,
Oh my, what a wonderful place.
Everyone would be happy.
There would be a smile on every face.

We would picnic every Sunday
At our favorite old oak tree.
We would sing and dance and prance about,
Just playing joyfully.

We would all be nice to each other
And always lend a hand.
Ready with a bear hug,
We would always understand.

We would all be happy when something nice
Happened for one of our friends
And our friendships would last forever.
Nothing would cause them to end.

We would be kind to everyone,
Not just those in our own home,
But to everyone throughout our world,
Wherever we may roam.

Yes, if teddy bears ruled the world,
What a wonderful life this would be.
Our hearts would always be happy
As we danced by the old oak tree.

Good First

2 March 2008

by HRM Deborah

One thing I learned the other day about myself that I did not realize, because I thought all people thought the same way.

I always believe in the good of any situation, even for example, when I first meet people. I look for the good in them first, for I do not like to have bad thought's.

A friend told me, that most people see or think the bad first and then look for the good.

I wish all people could see the good first, for it would make life easier and people happier; as for friendship‘s they would bond forever.

In the Old Days

Jewish men about 1898-1900.

1 March 2008

by HRM Deborah

I remember hearing stories when I was a little girl, of some of what it was like before the war.

For instance, everyone in Palestine regardless of what your religion was, use to eat at each other’s home, the children all played together usually outside in the streets and on a warm evening sit where it was cool and all talk to each other about what ever was on one’s mind.

The point I am trying to make is, one’s religion was not an issue in those days; but the fact you was a person and hopefully a good friend.

Any Holocaust Makes for a Sad Day

1 March 2008

by HRM Deborah

It is strange, I guess because of the onslaught that is going these days among my fellow countryman, that I happen today to find a book at the seller’s stall on the Jewish Holocaust.

I would like to make it very clear here that I in all my studies thus far am still perplexed of how one person could treat another person so despicably. While I have not gotten very far in this new book, which I had been trying to find for a little time now to further my studies of such a time in history that caused so many broken hearts and lost of loved one’s.

When I found this book today, a new friend of mine just happened to be with me and we decided to have coffee and talk.

I was actually a little upset at the subject matter of this book, because as I said, how I feel about people mistreating each other.

Earlier in this blog, I had related a story of an older women that I use to help her carry her shopping bag. Because something about her reminded me of my Grandmother and later I learned she was a survivor of an extermination camp and yes the Nazi number Stamp was on her forehead. I will even say she was the only survivor of the Jewish Holocaust from her family and even talking about her today because she had to leave me when I was a child, that I still get a lump in my throat and I will admit a few tears because she was my friend.

In addition, a few people had asked me after I related this story earlier on this blog, if the Jewish friend knew I was Palestinian, I will be perfectly honest here; I do not think it made any more difference to her then it did to me that she was Jewish or I was Palestinian, because the bonds of friendship between two people can often time’s circumvent these other idea’s that sometimes people may have in the world.

Then I got to talking, I think later to my friend, something my mother had told me because when this event happened, I was not born yet. When my Grandmother Dora was Queen and their were several survivor’s of the Jewish Holocaust, she wanted very much to help them. She actually offered for those who wished to come and live among the Palestinian people in peace and she had wanted to ensure their safety because she was so upset to what happened to these people by the Nazi’s. What I was told, why this did not occur she was overturned not by the Palestinian people, but the American’s.

Until the day she died, she never got over that such a thing like this happened and she was made helpless, to at least try to help where she thought she could.

Now as to the current situation between the Zionist and the Palestinians, I heard the old Cliché’, that said to the effect that we the Palestinian people planned to destroy the Jewish,/ Zionist people that at this time is occupying Palestine. Myself, I had said nothing to this effect and I do not know of anyone else who had said such a thing either. Instead, who ever is telling these bold face lies need to put a muzzle over their head.

Myself, unless people forget so soon, I have tried to make a just peace between, the Jewish people and the Palestinians with the hope it would be fair to all, not an idiot statement to the negative effect.

As to threatening a Holocaust against the people in Gaza, just make’s people understand that if the Zionist people attempt to do this, they will become no better then the Nazi’s did to their people during the time of World War 2.

As I said, the day not so many hours ago, if the Zionist wish any advancement’s to cease, stop attacking and murdering innocent Palestinian’s and we will do the same. For it is better to have and honest peace equal to all; then lie’s, murder, deception especially by foreign power’s instead of each other.

I truly hope someday the word, “Holocaust,” will fall out of all the dictionaries in the world and become a thing of the past; to be replaced with love and goodwill.

Roses of Life

I've dreamed many dreams that never came true,
I've seen them vanish at dawn.
But I've realized enough of my dreams, thank God,
To make me want to dream on.

I've prayed many prayers, when no answers came,
Though I waited so patient and long,
But answers came to enough of my prayers
To make me keep praying on.

I've trusted many a friend who failed
And left me to weak alone,
But I've found enough of my friends to be true
To make me keep trusting on.

I've sown many seeds that fell by the way
For the birds to feed upon,
But I've held enough golden sheaves in my hands
To make me keep sowing on.

I've drained the cup of disappointment and pain
And gone many days without song,
But I've sipped enough nectar from the roses of life
To make me want to live on.

The Boy with Little Arms

5 October 2007

by HRM Deborah

I am thinking I was maybe ten years old at the time, when I use to go to my father’s parents home and in those days children sometimes played American baseball in the street. All the children that wished to in the neighborhood would come and we would split into teams to play this game.

One day a boy that was living with his grandparents just a little down the street from mine, came one day and asked to join in on the game.

What was different about this boy is he had no hands and maybe three quarter’s of his arms. He happened to been born this way.

All of us children got together and decided if this meant so much to him, we would let him join into our fun.

To our surprise he actually could play very well, he even could bat and to this day I still am not sure how he was able to do this.

Because I was the one that had asked the other children if it was a good idea for him to play, this boy with little arms came upon himself to be my friend. We actually became very good friends, especially when he found that playing with all of us made him so happy.

One day, my paternal grandmother after my grandfather had died, decided she not wish for me to play anymore or be friends with the boy. I became very sad about this and it became so unbearable that I asked my parents if it would be a good idea, to go to the boys grandparents and explain why I could not only play anymore, but allowed to be friends with their grand son.

One of the few time’s my father agreed and my mother thought it was a wonderful idea, except for one problem, how to go to the grandparent’s home without my grandmother getting upset.

Well I stayed in the yard for a little time until the coast was clear and my parents had gone inside the house. I hurried down the street to boy’s grandparents and set out to explain that I was sorry for what I was not able to do anymore. While the grandfather understood, I still felt bad because if I was not going to play the game no one else was either and this meant the boy with little arms could not either.

What was even worse, are the parents of the boy since he had little arms was why he came to live with his grand parents to begin with.

Also, I was the boy’s first friend and he had to be close to about my age, so this seemed worse to me because I couldn’t understand especially at the time why he had not had friends before.

While everyone even the boy understood my dilemma, the boy told me everything would turn out good. So from that time, until my parents and I moved, me and the boy would stand on the curb and in a manner of speaking waved as well as smile at each other so we knew we was still friends.
This lasted for almost two years.

A Faithful Friend

Wednesday, April 11, 2007

There are no strangers, Only friends we haven't met

A friend is someone we turn to,
When our spirits need a lift.
A friend is someone we treasure,
For our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone who fills our lives,
With beauty, joy, and grace.
And makes the world we live in,
A better and happier place.
